Pack 1 "MG-1 Ringtones" 9 ringtones performed on the Realistic Concertmate MG-1
We achieved these tones by sending computerized MIDI sequences to the Realistic MG-1, with help from the Kenton Pro-2000 MIDI Control Voltage converter. The Radioshack MG-1 is a hardworking synthesizer, with great Moog sound functions.
Pack 2 "MS Series Ringtones" 7 ringtones performed on the Korg MS-10, MS-50 Expander, and SQ-10 Sequencer
This system serves well as a remote and flexible synthesizer workstation. The sequencer is capable of building unique rhythms that work well for ringtones. Nearly all of the tones heard here are duophonic, with the sequencer triggering both the MS-10 and the MS-50 at once.
Pack 3 "Seq 600 Ringtones" 5 ringtones performed on the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600
Our studio's longest running synthesizer is currently "on-the-fritz," but we were able to squeeze a few tones out, using its on-board sequencer and arpeggiator. This synth has its own unique sound and feeling - due, in large part, to the basic digital control functions. The Prophet 600 was the first commercial synthesizer to implement MIDI control.
Pack 4 "SH-1000 Ringtones" 10 ringtones performed on the Roland SH-1000
The SH-1000 is a widely underrated synthesizer and a veritable ringtone machine. We were able to get some very nice "classic office" rings with the SH-1000. This was Roland's very first commercial synthesizer.
Pack 5 "Mono Poly Ringtones" 14 ringtones performed on the Korg Mono/Poly
The Mono/Poly's unique on-board arpeggiator functions similarly to a 4-step sequencer (in "Poly" Mode), allowing for some interesting ringtone sequences. It's a powerful synthesizer, equipped with four oscillators and two Modulation Generators.
