Transferring ring tones to the W490 is done easiest with a USB cable. The USB port on the side of your phone is Mini-B sized slot so you will need a cable that converts A-sized USB (the type your computer uses) to the Mini-B size. Many USB devices use this type of converter cable, so chances are that you have one laying around your home.
- Once you have your cable, connect your phone to your computer via the cable.
- Now that your phone is connected to the computer you can locate the file folder located in your phone’s memory. To do this, go to My Computer (located in your startup menu, or your desktop). You should see a removable drive listed, for example: Removable Drive (F:).
- Double click this drive to open a folder. This folder is where you can copy and paste your MP3 files.
- After your files have been place in your phone’s folder you may unplug your phone.
- Now go to the W490’s main menu, go to Settings>Ring Styles>Detail>Calls>(your MP3s will be found here). #Select the MP3 file you want and your changes will be saved. Now your new ringtone will play for incoming calls!
