First you need a ringtone mp3 file. It should be less than 300 Kb and less than 30 seconds long. You can convert your own mp3 files at http://makeownringtone.com
Here are two ways to get the ringtone on the phone
Method 1
- Email the mp3 to your phone
- Open the text message when you receive it
- Go to “Options”, then “View Attachment”
- Select the sound file, then “Save”
- Then set it as a ringtone
Method 2 - requires a microSD card
- Connect the microSD card to your computer
- Make a new folder on the microSD card - Call it “Other”, for example
- Copy the ringotne mp3 file to the microSD card, in the new folder you just made
- Disconnect the microSD card from your computer and insert it into the Shine
- Go to the main menu, select “My Stuff”, then “Memory Card”, then “Folder Name” (your folder)
- Locate the ringotne mp3 file
- Select “Options,”, then “Copy”, then “Handset Memory”, then “Audio & Ringtones Folder”
- Select “Paste”, then set the file as a ringtone
