“Switched-On Ringtones” (analog synth ringtones)

We won’t try and hide the fact that at RCP we are big-time synthesizer geeks. Software synths and emulations are fun, but we love the warble and squonk that only comes from the old analog knobs. And it’s not just the vintage gear, but the classic records by Wendy Carlos, Raymond Scott, Mort Garson, Bruce Haack, and countless others that contributed to the original “switched-on” sound.

On our latest album, we’ve infused these influences and tweaked blips, sequences, and effects from classic synths like the Moog Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, and Roland Jupiter and fine-tuned them to sound great on all the new smart phones including iPhone, Palm, Blackberry, and Android. As always, our switched-on RCP tones still “sound like ringtones.”
